doing well

hey all, so its been almost a week since i've had my surgery and i am doing well, just bleeding still a little bit.

I am very happy these days, going to the gym for Zumba (the morning class is so much better than the evening class, the evening class is stupid doesnt even make you work out.) and enjoying the beautiful weather.

I did well in my last essay and I just finished my 2nd essay for the New Testament course and I learned quite a bit.  Now I plan to do an essay on women in leadership according to the Bible in context.  Hopefully I can get it done in time, it's due during the week that i'm in montreal so i have to do it faster before i leave for montreal so i can get it out of the way.  Not enough time!!!! But i think I can make it!!!! God willing!

I'm happy today.

Another excited night

I took my medicine and i tried going to sleep but I was hungry and excited so i ended up eating cheese and instant noodles. I don't know if I can sleep but i'll try. It's already quarter to 2am and I should be up by 8am tomorrow but I'm just too energetic I guess...

Thinking about Harold

I know I just posted a new post like an hour ago or something but I have to write about this...

Do I really love Harold or is he just another guy I'm attaching myself to?  When I talked to Jenny about how I met Harold, she said something really smart and insightful.  She said, "every time I talk to you, it's a different guy" (something along those lines)

True, I am not actually physically attracted to Harold.  But I am emotionally and intellectually attached.  With Andrew, I was physically and emotionally attached, but not intellectually attached.  So maybe God wants me to find someone I can be attached to in three ways instead of two, because both were missing something.

yet something that Christina told me on wed made me think.  She said there's no such thing as a soulmate.  No one is going to be perfect for you.  But if you love each other and you both love Jesus, and you have the same goals, and you wanna make it work, then go for it.

This is completely opposite from Daniela's view.  She believes in soul mate theology.  I don't know anymore.

the Bible does not say whether there is a soul mate for you or not.  But it does talk about God's will which can play in to that.

In any case, the longer I am away from Harold, the clearer I think things will be.  Because being around him and being in touch with him really makes me just want more.  It doesn't clarify anything for me.

Glad to be alive and well

Hey all,

Sorry for not updating in so long.  I have been doing well recently, got an A for my first paper in my New Testament course, an A that I felt I did not deserve but by God's Grace I am glad to receive it.

Today I had my surgery to correct my period problem.   The surgery went surprisingly well, I could walk and be awake and alert after the surgery and there was only discomfort, not really pain.

I have much to be thankful for. Even though I am super behind on readings, I've taken some time out to hang out with friends recently which has been good. :)  And I am learning new things.

Recently I was reminded once again that life is all about love.  My motivation for serving God should be out of love and my interactions with others should show love.  Without love I am nothing.

And I'm currently in a state where I am okay being single.  I still have a lot to learn (e.g. how to cook better, how to be hardworking, neat, and stable) so it's ok that I don't have a boyfriend. In fact, every time I had a boyfriend, my life was a lot more stressful now that I look back and think about it.

My term teaching children at sunday school is almost over. This sunday is the last day. I will still be teaching on Sunday mornings but not for the second class which is the sunday school.  So that frees up time for me to go to English service, which I dearly miss.

I'm thankful for many things. My friend Xiaolu wants to get baptized, I am peaceful, and I am healthy and well.

:) Thanks for reading, especially you, Walter.

Feeling better

I shared with Nick today about what I felt this week and after crying it out and praying with him I feel better. Now I just have to talk to Aaron.

Crying a lot

I haven't cried this much in ages.  I feel like listening to the song "Teardrops on my guitar".  I cried about a lot of things.  Pressure from parents, feeling left out because Aaron is dating Ying and Nick is dating my sister... crying for no reason, crying because i didn't get enough sleep, crying because I lost a lock and the new one i bought was defective... lots of things.

I feel like I need to go to Montreal like NOW.  Just to get a fresh breath of air type of thing, just escape from this horrible city named Toronto.  Harold says there are a lot of protests going on in Montreal though so maybe it's not THAT good of an idea but I could always climb out Mont Royal for a fresh breath of air.

My parents put so many restrictions on me, it's so unreasonable. I'm 24 now, I should be able to get a driver's license and go to evening Bible studies.  I feel like it's probably Satan attacking me through my parents even though I know my parents love me.

Today I was crying again for no reason.  I yearned to be happy.  Was it too much to ask for?

But God spoke to me and I ran to Him.  His love is all that I need.

You know what I realized?  Being a Christian is much harder than being a slave to Satan because when you are not Christian you don't need to care about other people's destiny and you don't need to follow all the rules that God gives.  If you are a Christian though, you have many responsibilities and on top of that, you are Satan's enemy and you get attacked by him.  Although you will not be beat down because God is with you, you may still be tortured until you die and go to the painless place called heaven.

That is the reality.  If you are not a Christian, you are a slave to Satan.  If you are a Christian you are son or daughter of the Almighty King Jesus.  What option is better? obviously the second.

God loves you.

My life is alright... kind of...

Hey everyone,

I haven't updated in a while.  How are you?  I am doing alright.  Busy life even though it doesn't feel as busy as last semester.  This summer semester should be easier because the courses are spread out and I have less class time and more at home time.  However, there is still a lot to do.

Harold is in Montreal now and I'm really glad in a way that he tweets and facebooks/emails us like every day or so (so far anyway) so that I could kind of travel along with him as he is on missions.

I am currently sitting in bed at 3:46am because I can't sleep. I already took two doses of medicine and that's way more than enough.  I just have too much energy and am feeling very happy and myself today.

I am using the extra time to do some reading.  :)  Hopefully catch up on my courses and do things faster and more efficiently because the weekend will come faster than I think, and I will end up running out of time planning for children's lessons for church.

Anyway I just remembered I have other work to do so better get back to it!  see ya!

Love, Martine
